Border Force is striking on the busiest Christmas in three years, with 1,290 flights landing today as queues build at Manchester Airport at the start of an eight-day walkout at six UK airports and Newhaven Port.

The military and civil servants have been called in to help at Heathrow, , Cardiff, , Glasgow and по ссылке Manchester airports, and the port of Newhaven in East Sussex as up to 1,000 Border Force staff walk out.
And thousands of National Highways, Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and employees are also due to take industrial action today.
While these workers continue their strike into Saturday, (RMT), Abellio London bus workers, and Environment Agency employees will also launch separate waves of action.
This follows , as thousands of nurses walked out on Tuesday, and ambulance workers joined picket lines on Wednesday.
